RAMAAVAN and the story of Diwali - A unique theatrical experience using Indian dance theatre, traditional Indian dance and music – classical and folk, Opera, Broadway, theatre, poetry, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and modern techniques to tell one of the greatest Epics from India... The Ramayana.
These stories are presented on the stage using audio-visual media of ethnic and contemporary theatrical dance drama elements - dance, music, theatre, along with scripted narration, and also projections (where possible), hand manipulated puppets, and their human counterparts , similar in all respects from headgear et all to costume details.
These performances also address New Jersey Board of Education’s Core Curriculum Content Standards for the Visual and Performing Arts and lends itself as an educational program : Aesthetics, Literacy and Social Studies, Critique, Language Art, Creation and Performance, Elements and principles of the arts, World Cultures, History and Society.
